Choosing a browser is highly individualistic, especially when all the major browsers can handle most of the things, and read web pages as quickly as possible. Of course, some browsers are faster than others, but the time difference is in seconds and sometimes in milliseconds.
Some have support for plug-ins while others do not have. You will be confused ,if you are not technically literate. In the following , we are are going through the major five browsers and their most common features.
All the browsers that we will be going through, are free of cost. After reading it, you may not be sure of which one to choose, but you can test up these on your own and then select the best one for you.
Firefox 3.5
Firefox is the star shot and continuously keeping its eye on Internet Explorer’s leadership over the past few years. The main reason for Firefox’s success is that it offers more flexibility than others, for example Internet Explorer.
Firefox has support for the, so-called plug-ins ,that can easily extend the functionality of the browser. There is now a plethora of plug-in for Firefox which allows you to customize the browser with all sorts of functions and features.
Firefox has a nice interface and easy to use. It is also one of the browsers that has been the best to follow the so-called HTML standard on the Internet, which quickly made it popular among those who develop web sites on the Internet.
Best for: all. Firefox is professionals’ favorite, as it is not at all complicated to use. On the contrary, it is very user-friendly and mixed with a nice interface. It is a safe and best choice.

Google Chrome 1.0
Google Chrome is a newcomer which created headlines when it was released late last year. Minimalist user interface is a particular characteristic of Google chrome which is atypical of modern web browsers. It will make you feel a bit strange if you’re used to Internet Explorer or Firefox. Chrome’s strength is its application performance and javascript processing speed, both of which were independently verified by multiple websites to be the swiftest among the major browsers of its time.
In its current version, Google has no support for plug ins which makes it quite limited in nature. But Google has pledged the Support for plug ins in a future version.
Best for: Minimalist Stone. For those who want a browser with a minimum of buttons and menus.

INTERNET EXPLORER 8
Internet Explorer 8 has a lot to prove. Internet Explorer 7 has been losing ground over rivals at a furious pace over the past year, So,overall, Internet Explorer 8 is an impressive package and offers reliability and some good features, which could be enough to win it some fans.
On the surface , there are no major differences between IE8 and its predecessor, IE7. According to Microsoft, the big change has been made under the shell. IE8 is faster and more compliant in its own way to interpret the code that constitutes websites.
In this, the support for plugins is missing, but an exciting new feature of IE8 is called the “accelerator”. It works so that if for example you come across an English word that you do not understand, you just select it, you will get access to usable accelerators like Glossary. Then you will see at once what the word means.
Best for: Everyday user. For those, who do not care so much about special features in the form of plug-ins, but focuses on ease of use.

Opera 10.10
As compared to other web browsers, Opera seems like a wild card. It has a nice interface and support for plug ins (which here are called widgets). Simply , there are no errors, but still there are not many unique advantages of using Opera 9.64.
Opera has a nice feature that allows you to save the nine most common sites you visit on a single page. You will get the small previews of each site and can quickly choose the one, you want to visit.
But if you are looking for a user-friendly browser which extends in its functions, then Firefox is a far better choice as it has a range of plug ins to choose from.
Best for: Outsider. Opera has a nice appearance but offers nothing which does not exist already, and is better like Firefox offers.

Safari 4
Whether on a Mac, PC, i Phone, or i Pod touch, Safari continuously redefines the browser, providing the most enjoyable way to experience the Internet. Safari on Mac is a really good and fast browser but we can not say the same about Windows version. Apple claims that running Safari in 64-bit mode will increase rendering speeds by up to 45%. However, there is currently no 64-bit build for Mac OS X v10.5 or below, Windows XP, Windows Vista, or Windows 7.
The interface on the Mac is very good. For the hardened Windows user, it might be confusing to use a program that does not follow the guidelines for the design of Windows programs. But it is clearly a matter of taste.
Best for: Mac enthusiasts. Safari, a clean and simple browser that is fast and supports most features required.
